Hello, I’m Ben Cowell-Thomas. I am a DFX Supervisor with over 22 years experience in the film and commercials VFX industries.

I’m especially passionate about creative direction and problem solving. With my focus on leading teams of artists to bring to life the vision of the director and VFX supervisor.

I have a proven track record leading large teams in delivering complex assets and sequences. 

Recent roles include - 

• Fast X - DFX Supervisor - Onset with second unit in Rome and then supervising 300+ shots from layout to comp (DNEG, 2022-23)

• The Covenant - VFX Supervisor (onset), I was the production VFX Supervisor for Guy Ritchie’s Afghan war movie. Shooting in Southern Spain (DNEG, 2022)

• Matrix 4 - Environment Supervisor, I oversaw the creation of many iconic and new environments including the machine city, IO and so many tunnels (DNEG, 2021)

• Fast and Furious 9 - Environment Supervisor, onset Lidar + Photography supervision in Tbilisi. This was a mammoth project with environments covering inner city, a huge construction site and an Eastern European hinterland (DNEG, 2019-2020)
